Your
guide, Captain Jim McWhorter,
is both owner and sole operater of Catch A
Memory Fishing Charters
in Sarasota. He is a Florida native and has fished the Gulf of Mexico
for over 30 years. Captain Jim has caught everything in the Gulf
waters from exotic snapper to large sharks, but he is most excited
about the deep sea fishing off Sarasota. He is licensed by the U.S.
Coast Guard as both an inland and offshore charter captain.
Captain Jim tries to make every charter
worth remembering whether you are experienced or a first-time fisherman.
He is patient and wants his fishing trips to be fun, relaxing and
affordably priced. His goal is to leave you with a memory of hooking

guide for the charter adventure is also a skilled photographer. He
uses digital photography and Photoshop software to create quality
fishing memories for every customer, hence his company's name,

it to dinnertime or you are a “catch and release” angler, this charter

The top priority of the
captain is the safety of his customers. His onboard
safety gear exceeds U.S. Coast Guard requirements, and his twin-engine
Grady-White is widely recognized as one of the most seaworthy boats
in its class. Since all of his charters remain in sight of land
(on a clear day), the boat is always within cell phone or VHF radio
range of land. The American Red Cross has also certified your guide
to apply basic first aid and CPR, if needed.
Jim and spouse Bonnie have been married for 34 years and are proud
parents of two great daughters. After working 30 years in management
for a local company and fishing on weekends, he opted for his full-time
dream lifestyle and opened Catch A Memory Fishing Charters in his
beautiful hometown of Sarasota, Florida.
